All dogs chew. They have to and there is no chewing gum specially prepared to check their appetite. So, what is the best way to drag the puppy out of the chewing business?



Make sure to keep all things he likes to chew away from him. But you never know his flickering mind, as is with my pooch. Make a separate dog toy box and give him company whenever he is playing with them, giving him instructions.



Another way is to apply a taste deterrent, such as ‘bitter apple’, on things you don’t want your dog to chew. Always remember, dog is a very intelligent and involving creature and training can only mould him the way you like.
