In my earlier post I’ve covered the topic extensively, but the current holiday season prompted me to throw some more light on canine diabetes. Holiday treats are on the platter, not only for us but our pets too. The yummy taste of cakes and chocolates not only play havoc with your health, but our pets are also having their share of the killing dose.
Diabetes is correctly referred as a ’silent killer’. It may not almost kill your dog, but it remains throughout his life and retards your dog’s passion for life by making him addicted to regular insulin shots and other medications if the condition is serious.
NO DOUBT obesity is the main reason and treats fueling the extra flab will be in the air throughout the month. Owners instead of giving their dogs the required balanced diet include them into the party and share the holiday treats with them and therefore exposing them to diabetes and different other infections. Overweight dogs are the main victims of diabetes. Better plan out the exercise program for both of you and ensure your dog a better life the next year.
