Chicago City Council is planning to pass an ordinance that would allow the pets to dine with their owners in the restaurants and cafes. In response to this Chef Didier Durand and other chefs in chicago had been preparing a separate menu for the poochies and kitties.

But Frances Guichard, director of the food protection program for the Chicago Department of Public Health has a contrary viewpoint as he introduces the sting of sophistication for the pet lovers. To quote Frances Guichard:

Some can contaminate a dining area. The law says they’re not supposed to be there.
The health and sanitary concerns would weigh down the city officials with a follow-up of vet visit by the pet owners. The Chicago City Council must check the consequence of letting the pets in the restaurants before passing the ordinance. Pet owners can make other arrangements to better the indulgence with their pets.
