There is yet another patch in the flimsy garments the ragamuffin dogs sport in China. But I just couldn’t make myself a piece of mockery by expecting these guys to pat the dogs with their wagging tails just after gobbling up their flesh. Or who knows this is yet another fashion of celebrating the Year of the Dog in China; by abandoning them in case their insipid mind lose interest in these furry cozy creatures whom we call our best friends. Dogs are considered, rather used, as fortunate gifts to mark the beginning of the Lunar New Year in China, which are dumped by the owners as gifts and again by the takers ruthlessly, when they find that they’re eating up too much of their precious time unnecessary.
The phenomenon is embellished by pet stores who offer ‘antibiotic pets’ - who’re fed on medicines to look cute, but have a very short life, and it’s increasing day by day. The land of the Mao Zedong is definitely not for the dogs, where they were banned earlier and was made legal only a few years back.
But here is another picture depicting a complete different outlook towards dogs. There are people, who know what life is and are dressing up their dogs for lucky money and pampering their canine companions to celebrate the Spring Festival. In addition, one can even experience what happens when “Dog Meets Man”.
