gift-pet_1451Animals are not toys. They are, like us. They also require love and proper care to flourish. Pets have their own ways of expressing love. Pets also help children by motivating them to improve their motor skills. Kids having pets develop a greater sense of responsibility and self confidence. A bonding with a pet animal adds to quality of life .It also gives longevity by reducing stress, blood pressure and heart disease. They listen and love their owner unconditionally.
1) Raising a pet as part of your family means taking complete responsibility for it. It is an important decision. Hence, it is absolutely essential to understand the nature and essential needs of any animal that you want to adopt. It is very easy to fall in love with an animal- especially when it is small. But loving an animal is one thing, raising it as your own child is another.dogs-n-cats_1451

2) Most of us think of adopting pets for all the wrong reasons. We unintentionally use them. Sometimes as a burglar alarm or a companion for kids or as a status symbol. Some childless couples adopt them as a child substitute. The only right reason for keeping a pet should be because you want to care for it genuinely. Because, later on, when our initial interest settles we start neglecting our pets.

dogs_14514) Never give an animal as a gift! It is unjust to give an animal to anyone unless you are certain that the person will take its proper care for lifetime. And the best option will be to give them a gift certificate from the local animal shelter.

5)Sometimes, children can be cruel to animals. However, that may be totally unintentional. Puppies, kittens, chicks, and other young animals are particularly defenseless. Small children may harm animals. This can result in breaking of their delicate bones or some fatal injuries. You can always give your child a stuffed animal to play with.child-pet_1451

6)Adopt a homeless animal from a shelter.

7)Don’t abandon your animals.

8)So, if you are thinking of adopting a pet, think about the pros and cons and then adopt one.
